‘In the Flesh’ is a short film in black and white inspired by a text by Professor Alison Leitch ‘Visualization the Mountain’ (2007) on the marble quarry as a living material. Reversing the roles, the artist interprets the sculpture, with the marble skin and the human flesh, becoming more and more alive, a creature that longs to rejoin with its roots and crawls back into the mother’s lap, the quarry.
